Rest well, sweet Maureen

24th May 2026—a date that will be forever etched in my friend's mind. The day his mum passed away.

Maureen passed away peacefully with her family by her side, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Yesterday, her funeral was held at the Northumberland Woodland Burial & Crematorium. It was a beautiful setting for a beautiful soul taken from us.

The morning weather reflected the mood: dull and wet. Funerals can feel incredibly heavy, but that doesn't mean there can't be light and laughter as we remember the good things about those we have lost. Much like yesterday when, amongst the sorrow, we shared laughter from old tales that brought smiles from fond memories.

Lilies and daffodils—Maureen's favourite flower—adorned her casket as we said our final goodbyes. We let her rest now, as we carry on and keep her alive in our hearts and memories.
